Journey onwards to Muowongoni Village and marvel at the breathtaking views of Oldoinyo Lengai and Lake Natron. Ascend the active volcano for a sunrise summit before bidding farewell to the wilderness and returning to Arusha, cherishing the memories of this unforgettable expedition.
At 8 am, we’ll pick you up from your lodge or hotel to kick off an unforgettable journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the renowned crater, often dubbed the “Garden of Eden.” Its lush pastures, swamps, forests, and permanent water sources create an ideal habitat for an abundance of wildlife, with up to 25,000 large animals calling it home. We’ll embark on an exhilarating game drive until lunchtime. After a satisfying meal, our adventure continues into the afternoon, exploring the crater’s wonders. Later, we’ll bid farewell to this natural marvel and head to Nainokanoka, where our camp awaits. As the day winds down, immerse yourself in an evening walking safari to Olmoti Crater and the mesmerizing Munge Waterfalls, accompanied by both an armed ranger and a knowledgeable Maasai guide. After soaking in the beauty of the surroundings, we’ll return to camp for a hearty dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After a satisfying breakfast prepared by our camp cook, we’re fueled up and ready for an exciting day ahead. With picnic lunches packed, we embark on a full-day walking safari, beginning our journey from the camp through Kamnana village. Following the ancient Maasai cattle trails, we explore the diverse landscapes of the Embulbul Depression, weaving through forests and grasslands. As we wander, each step brings us closer to nature, unveiling its hidden treasures and captivating beauty. With the sun casting its golden glow upon the landscape, we immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the Tanzanian wilderness. As evening approaches, we return to Kamnana Campsite, nestled amidst the bush, for a well-deserved dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquility of the African bush.
After an early breakfast, we embark on another day of walking, traversing open grasslands, bushlands, and forests towards the rim of Empakai Crater, our campsite for the night. Along the way, we encounter buffalo, reedbuck, waterbuck, and various bird species. After a hearty breakfast, we embark on a full-day hike, beginning with a picturesque circuit around the rim of Empakai Crater before descending to explore its floor. This promises an exhilarating adventure, with opportunities for close encounters with flamingos and buffalos against the backdrop of stunning scenery. As the day draws to a close, we make our way back to camp for a well-deserved dinner and a peaceful overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s unforgettable experiences amidst nature’s wonders.
Set out after breakfast, following a winding path that descends from the crater highlands to the welcoming embrace of Muowongoni village. Our campsite rests just at the village’s edge, offering a unique blend of rustic charm and natural beauty. As evening falls, we come together for a delicious dinner, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the village. Underneath the vast African sky, we retire for the night, immersed in the tranquility of our surroundings, eager for the adventures that await us tomorrow.
As the sun rises, we fuel up with breakfast and set out early, traversing volcanic terrain to catch breathtaking views of Oldoinyo Lengai and Lake Natron. Descending the mountain’s slopes, we cross the Ngaresero River to reach our campsite. Here, a refreshing river bath awaits before we gather around the campfire for dinner under the stars, sharing stories of the day’s adventure before bedtime.
After a relaxed late breakfast, join a guided walk to the shores of the lake, home to East African pink flamingos. Return for lunch at camp, then enjoy leisure time in the afternoon. In the evening, visit the stunning Ngaresero waterfalls before dinner and overnight at the camp, sharing stories under the stars.
As the midnight hour envelops us, we embark on a swift journey to the mountain’s base for our climb up the active volcano, Oldoinyo Lengai. The trek lasts 6-8 hours, through rugged terrain and stunning scenery. We aim to return before the sun gets too hot. As dawn breaks, we make it back to camp, greeted by the smell of a hearty breakfast. The rest of the day is for relaxing. In the evening, we gather for dinner, sharing stories of our adventure beneath the stars before settling in for the night.
After breakfast, we gather our belongings and pack a picnic lunch for the journey ahead. It’s time to bid farewell to the wilderness and embark on our drive back to Arusha or to the airport, where our unforgettable trip and our exceptional service come to an end.
