Kipe Adventure is proudly Maasai-owned and operated, and among the few 100% Maasai- owned safari companies in Tanzania.
The company was founded by Kipelyani Olesisian, widely known as Lekulek or Kipe, who was born and raised in a traditional Maasai community in northern Tanzania. Beyond being a safari entrepreneur, Lekulek is a proud Maasai warrior, community leader, and passionate advocate for responsible tourism and community development.
When you travel with us, you experience Tanzania through the eyes of local people who call this land Nyumbani (Home).
Absolutely.
Unlike many safari companies, we create opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange. Most of our itineraries include a complimentary visit to our Maasai community, where you will meet local families, participate in daily activities, and learn about traditions directly from community members.
Our goal is to create genuine connections rather than staged cultural experiences.

Some of our Signature Experiences include overnight stays in authentic Maasai homesteads. Our “Beyond the Safari” journeys are designed to immerse travelers in the daily life of communities living alongside wildlife conservation areas.
Guests have the opportunity to experience traditional food, storytelling, cultural activities, and the rhythm of life in a respectful and meaningful way.
We believe tourism can be a powerful force for positive change.
Through our community initiative, the Oltukai Community Development Organization (OCDO), Kipe Adventure contributes a portion of its profits toward community development projects.
These initiatives focus on:
When you travel with Kipe Adventure, you become part of this ongoing story.
Yes.
Guests interested in learning more about our community work are welcome to visit the school project and meet some of the students and teachers.
In fact, the school visit is one of the highlights of our Oltukai Village Experience.
What makes this project particularly special is its journey. Several years ago, classes were held under a tree, with children gathering outdoors to learn despite having very limited resources. As the number of students grew, the community came together to build simple classrooms made from wood and grass-thatched roofs.
Today, thanks to the support of our community, partners, and travelers who believe in our vision, the project continues to grow. We have already completed two permanent classrooms, providing a safer and more inspiring learning environment for the children.
For many of our guests, visiting the school is one of the most emotional and memorable moments of their journey. This is especially true for families traveling with children, who often have the opportunity to interact, play, and learn alongside Maasai children. These genuine connections create unforgettable memories and offer a unique perspective on life, culture, and education.
The visit also provides a firsthand opportunity to see how responsible tourism can create meaningful and lasting change within local communities.
When you visit, you are not simply seeing a school—you are becoming part of a story of hope, determination, and opportunity for the next generation.
Every classroom built, every child supported, and every opportunity created is a reminder that travel can be a force for good.
Because we believe travel should be about more than wildlife viewing.
Our Beyond the Safari experiences combine nature, culture, conservation, community engagement, and authentic human connections.
These journeys are designed for travelers seeking a deeper understanding of Tanzania, its people, and its traditions.
As local guides, we love every part of Tanzania.
From walking safaris through Maasai lands to witnessing the Great Migration, dancing with Maasai warriors, and sharing stories around a campfire beneath the African stars, these are the experiences that both we and our guests remember for a lifetime.
Once we receive your inquiry, one of our safari planners will personally contact you to learn about your interests, travel style, and expectations.
Within 24 hours, we will provide personalized recommendations and sample itineraries tailored to your travel goals.
From there, we work together to design a customized journey that matches your interests, budget, and dreams.
No two journeys are exactly the same.
While guests often come to Tanzania for the wildlife, many tell us that their most memorable moments are the human connections they make along the way.
One of the most frequently mentioned highlights is visiting our Maasai community. Guests are warmly welcomed with singing, dancing, laughter, and genuine hospitality. Evenings are often spent around a bonfire beneath the African stars, listening to stories shared by village elders.
These are the moments that stay with people long after their safari has ended.
If you are looking for an authentic, meaningful, and locally guided experience, Kipe Adventure is your home in Tanzania.
We offer authentic experiences, genuine cultural connections, local expertise, and the opportunity to travel in a way that positively impacts both people and places.
When you travel with Kipe Adventure, you do not simply visit Tanzania.
You become part of its story.
