Our Story
From a Maasai Boy to A dream with Purpose
My name is Kipelain of Lekulek, most they call me Kipe, and I was born and raised in a traditional Maasai community in northern Tanzania.
Growing up, I witnessed both the beauty and the challenges of life in our community. We lived close to wildlife, surrounded by incredible landscapes that many travelers dream of visiting. Yet many children lacked access to quality education, families struggled with limited opportunities, and basic needs such as clean water were often difficult to access.
Like many young Maasai men, I began my journey from humble beginnings. I worked as a porter on Mount Kilimanjaro, carrying equipment for climbers from around the world. Every trek taught me valuable lessons about hard work, determination, and the power of human connection.
As I spent more time with travelers, I realized that tourism could be much more than sightseeing. It could create opportunities. It could preserve culture. It could help communities grow.
That realization became the foundation of Kipe Adventure.
More Than a Safari Company
When I founded Kipe Adventure, my vision was simple:
To create authentic journeys that connect travelers with the real Tanzania while ensuring tourism directly benefits local communities.
Today, Kipe Adventure is proudly Maasai-owned and operated. We design experiences that go beyond traditional safaris, allowing travelers to connect with wildlife, culture, conservation, and the people who call this land home.

Several years ago, we started teaching children under a tree because there was no school available to serve them. What began as a small dream has grown into a community-driven project dedicated to creating educational opportunities for underprivileged and orphaned children.
