Chem Chem Lodge is an exclusive luxury safari lodge set within the Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in northern Tanzania — a vast 20,000-hectare unfenced wilderness corridor between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. The lodge’s design embraces a “Slow Safari” philosophy, encouraging guests to connect with nature deeply by exploring the bush on foot and by vehicle, truly sensing the sights, sounds, and textures of the African wilderness rather than just observing from afar.
Chem Chem Lodge comprises eight secluded tented suites, including a family suite, elegantly elevated above the ground and connected by wooden walkways. Each suite is spacious and thoughtfully designed with natural materials like canvas, wood, and stone, blending into the landscape while offering comfort such as indoor and outdoor showers, private verandahs with sweeping views over plains, and premium bedding.
The main lodge area includes a restaurant, bar and lounge with panoramic vistas of the surrounding bush and Lake Manyara beyond, a pool hidden among trees, a spa for relaxation, and a library and fireplace for cozy evenings. Guests can enjoy game drives, bush walks, cultural interactions with local Maasai, sundowners by the lake, and other experiences that combine wildlife viewing with a meaningful connection to the land and its people.
